Welcome to the Birmingham Local Offer for Special Educational Needs (SEN).

We want to develop Birmingham as an inclusive city with a fair chance for all. Our focus is on children and young people with special educational needs (SEN) and disabilities aged 0-25 years making progress with learning and being prepared for adulthood.

This SEN Local Offer should enable children and young people to have fairer access and opportunities to move towards long term aspirations of employment; finding somewhere to live; participating in society and good health.

How will it help? The Local Offer will:

• Make it easier to find out what you need to know
• Help you to be less dependent on other people or word of mouth
• Help you to find the nearest and most suitable services
• Help you to ask the right questions
• Help you to provide feedback about what is needed, raise concerns or make a complaint

We have built this SEN Local Offer website with parents, families and young people and there is a clear expectation that it will develop and improve over the next 3 years as we put in place the SEN Reforms

What can we do to help?

You may have thousands of questions about how LGJS can help to support you and your child during the four years they are with us.  You will find two documents below that hopefully will answer some of those questions.  If you do need any further assistance, do not hesitate to call or come into school.
